May I gloat?

It is really hard to not talk about skating this time of year.  Even though it’s a balmy 95 degrees outside, the figure skating season is in full swing and we are spending many mornings at the rink.  Sass had her first competition of the season a couple weeks ago.  Three days after she competed we jumped on [...]

Shoe talk

Do you say “please put your shoes and socks on” or “please put your socks and shoes on”?
Speaking of shoes, there was a person with a stinky foot problem today at the figure skating rink . I dared a fellow skate mom to walk by him and take a whiff. She did. [...]

Hot Topic

While cleaning out my purse I came across 4 Hot Topic frequent buyers cards. All four are completely punched out; a full punched card awards 15% off my next purchase or something to that effect. The Turd

Not happy. Let me tell you why. Being a total fool, I decided to organize a party for 20 figure skaters, an outing which would require me and one other fool (my favorite skate mom, Mark) to spend our entire Saturday at an amusement park. Preparing to Chaperone squealy girls whose ages range 7 thru [...]

Soccer Moms

I envy the soccer mom. They seem so full of life and energetic; always driving with a car full of soccer balls, sliced oranges, and other treats for the team. Looking cute in their jogging shorts, T-shirt and matching running shoes. Sporty hair and a glowing tan from the warm mornings in the sun. Yes, [...]
