Who needs sleep anyway?

Over the weekend I decided to scare the crap out of my two girls.  Why you ask? Because I’m a glutton for punishment. My motherhood experience has been burdened with the responsibility to shelter my children from anything that may be considered scary. My protective ways are mostly selfish, because I don’t want my sleep to be interrupted by their night terrors.

Throwing caution to the wind, I concocted a situation that involved my husband hiding in the garage, while I sent my two girls out to get some soy milk. To get to the refrigerator you must walk around the back of my car, there is only one way out and that is the same way you came in. My husband stood behind the door and waited for them to walk around the car to the refrigerator. Once they were in and trapped, hubby slammed the door shut and turned off the lights. He then slowly stomped over to the other side of the car were my two girls were shivering in anticipation. Hubby was dressed in black with a rather repulsive mask on. Sessy immediately began to cry. Once she knew it was a joke she vowed to never forgive us, or allow us to have a full nights sleep EVER. Sass claims she wasn’t scared at all, but has since started to sleep with her nightlight on. Neither of them are willing to retrieve anything from the garage.

I have apologized, and explained we were only having fun, yes it was mean, and I’m sorry. At least that is what I attempted to get out through my laughter. Overall they will not be scarred and we will all laugh about it someday. As for this YouTube flick I have planned to show them tonight, I’m not sure if an apology will be accepted. (Disclaimer: there may be some dialogue in the beginning that you don’t approve of, don’t send me emails people)
