I Have a Fleet of Strollers

Baby gear, baby clothes, baby powder and baby stuff are all Big Girl Toys. And oh how I love them. I’m not ashamed to admit that half my desire for wanting my third chubby cherub was to once again be able to purchase all the Big Girl Toys I want, the other half was so I could park in the stork parking spot for expectant mothers at Babies-R-US.

Lil Man

When my Little Man needs a new bib, spoon, or sippy cup, I MUST run to the nearest dearest baby boutique. I don’t want to waste a single moment of my precious Big Girl Toy Shopping years at the grocery store. Since Little Man forever will be my baby, I am quite sure my Big Girl Toy Shopping privileges will last long into his teenage years, but the baby boutique will eventually expire for me. Just like the baby bottle did last night.

I needed Little Man’s last bottle to finish like I needed a hole in the head. Honestly he could have been weaned from the bottle 3 months ago. He is (barely)15 months old and never developed a relationship with his bottle (none of my chubba bubbas did). Weaning is extremely easy for them, it’s me who needs a 10 step program, a bottle of Jagermeister, and a straight jacket to deal with the overwhelming desire to swaddle and hold my baby boy while plugging his mouth with a big fat baby bottle complete with a stage one nipple.

Little man is still bathed in his yellow ducky tub, his legs are jammed and we can only fill the duck with about 2 inches of water, I’ll be damned if the ducky is going away anytime soon. My husband knows to not push me with this one. He is a good man.

Looks like I will be running to the baby store first thing this morning. You pregnant gals better watch out, I’m going to park in that expectant mother parking spot whether you like it or not. I might even carry in a jug of apple juice and drop it in isle 9 so I can shriek - “My Water Broke!” Don’t flaunt your baby shower registry at me ladies, and you better think twice before you load up on new-born baby bottles I may have to take you out…you’ve been warned.

Little Man’s Last Bottle May 15th 2007. We may put him back on it in the morning, we will have to see how I am doing…

Just you wait! The pain of sending a child off to college. I will be sending my baby at the end of this summer! Motherhood is one sad milestone after another. But we are always happy to see them grow healthy and strong. I feel your pain. And I laughed at the apple juice jar. I need to see that!

I know just how you feel. That’s why I opened a baby store (www.thebabymarketplace.com). It fulfills all my shopping needs in a really BIG way!
